Finally, every passenger was comfortably seated, but still the same, heads were all down looking at those screens. The Flight attendant told us that it was time to take off so please put down your electronic devices, you will never guess what happened, no one heard, so all of the passengers continued to look at those screens. He had to assume that those small screens were not electronic devices, for would all of those people not listen? We flew for the next hour, and still looking at screens, we landed, still looking at screens, we went to baggage claim, still looking at screens, we stopped at a stop sign, still looking at screens, we sat on the beach, still looking at screens! What are all these people doing with those screens?
Over the past 15-20 years a new industry called “influencers” has gained significant popularity. Yes, you can surly call 6 envious for 6 could not influence himself out of a paper bag! Given that, just take a minute and think about the whole industry of influencers, the more outrageous one can be the more followers one has the more “Clicks”, the more money they make. The very sad thing about this is that the influence given by influencers, are the same people who keep their heads in the screens. This goes back to one of 6’s all time favorite sayings “the Blind leading the Blind”. Or for the philosophical among us, “circular reasoning”. In summary, be very mindful of how one develops a position on just about any topic. For we all know what they say “opinions are like……..everyone has one”. Opinions do not necessarily, hold truth. Back to 6 being envious, it seems like every other commercial when 6 is watching Gunsmoke is something called “DealDash”. Some guy “who is brilliant” came up with this form of Penny auction way back in 2009, it is incredible, it takes advantage of peoples need to have “things”, at the same time giving them the feeling like they are getting an incredible deal on “Things’”. With a slight play on words (not necessarily being truthful) all while he sits back and racks in the cash. 6 bets this guy did not spend every waking moment with his head in a screen!
Life really can be simple, if you take the time and view the world from the eyes of a child, watch an ant cross the sidewalk, count the waves, watch the birds dive into the ocean, follow a sand crab, watch a dear eat the foliage, lift your heads and see the truth around you, not the dribble on the screens.
