Back to the old sayings, “If someone jumped off of a bridge, would you?” To be very honest, depending on how obstinate, 6 was being would determine the answer to that question. But then again, since 6 was such a perfect child, no one ever had to use that saying on him, but if they did, what would have 6 done?
Peer pressure was the genesis of that old saying. Basically, it is challenging blind conformity, should one follow the crowd with-out critically thinking the action. The sad reality, is the concept of critical thinking, is as common as a Waterspout on the beach at Kiawah! Yes, it does happen, when 6 is out fishing with 5, 52, and 8, how often does that happen? What is the reason for the lack of critical thinking? In a way it is very simple, we no longer need to be taught that skill, because all we need to do is ask the screen! The screen will magically give you any answer to any action you may have to take, how simple, you don’t have to bother to use any brain power, and since you don’t use brain power, you don’t even know that you are not using it. How perfect, you don’t have to think, any form of peer pressure is gone, and life moves on. No longer can we sit back as fool on the hill watching the world going around, we are the ones sitting back with our heads in the screen, letting others guide us on the path of life.
Speaking of the fool on the hill, that same fool is just sitting back watching some of those screen people sitting under there fine Shibumi shades. All you all call me the fool, but at least this fool can put up the darn thing so it works. If this fool on the beach had a brain, he would charge for the expertise in setting up a Shibumi! Has anyone figured out why wealthy people can be such …… lets us use some critical thinking! Wealthy people on the beach at Kiawah Island afford the fool on the beach with two things. First, and foremost entertainment. Second, a source of income for 611,621 and 622, they are smart enough to help those people sit in the shade under their Shibumi’s.
Time to call it a day, my glass of Rex is empty and Banana is just about to start!
