Kiawah in the spring!
Oh the beach time! The sky was as blue as topaz, the
vegetation as green as Tsavorite garnet the air as clear as a multi-faceted
diamond. The sun unabated sat low in the sky not allowing for the harsh burning
piercing rays that turn the sand into hot coals, and your skin into a burning
mass… In other words you suckers missed a great week!
As all of you know 6 is on constant look out for news from
the islands. In my research I found three interesting articles: first was
titled “The Bundy’s head south for vacation” , and second” 4 gets a Girl
Friend”, and third “The return of the turtle killers”.
In my past posts, you-all remember the turtle killers, if
not go no further with this post, and go back and edamacate yourselves! For
those who imagine themselves to have the same intellectual ability as myself
read on! When 6 arrived at the beach on Saturday night, his keen intellect
noticed that there was something different on the beach. Upon exiting the
boardwalk all was normal, after walking about 30 yards, 6 noticed that he was
walking up a slight incline followed by a steep fall off into water that was
3-4 feet deep, but he still was not in the surf. What in the heck happened? Was there a
monster storm? A sink hole.. was I about to be consumed by a sea serpent? Did the jellies build a holding tank so that
they could multiply to be ready for the return of 5? Did nature provide a safer
port-a-john? 6 has no idea what happened, until the next day when he saw the
article tiled the “return of the turtle killers”. As the story goes a group of
families all graduates of Hillbilly U decided to beat the oppressive heat of
the summer and come to Kiawah early this year, set up their tents, and being
equipped with diggin stuff “shovels to you and I” spent the prior week digging
in the sand! At first the beach patrol was going to stop them from destroying
the majesty of the beach, but with extreme pressure and influence from the KIA
“Kiawah Island Association” they were
told to stand down, for the following week the island was expecting a very
special family from the Chicago area. The family had already loaded up the
dodge provided plenty of food for buck, and was making a bee line for South
Carolina. To honor this family KIA they named the new lake “Lake Bundy”! I bet
you were all thinking the lake was going to be called Griswold Lake! That makes 6 do a little thinking, tow of the
best families in the world hail from Chicago..
Words of wisdom: One can never be wrong, if you are doing
the right thing.
Cant wait to get back to lake Bundy. I wonder if the Bundy's will still be there.
