Life goes marching on!

As each day passes we (should) gain wisdom. Wisdom is not maturity, wisdom is not knowledge so what is it?  It is the quality or state of being wise; knowledge of what is true or right coupled with just judgment as to action; sagacity, discernment, or insight. For example, is it wise for a man to be in a Speedo on the beach at Kiawah?  Let take a deeper look at Speedo man.  Maturity, he has to be at least in his 40’s for it has been 20 years since a Speedo was in style. 6 knows that age doesn’t necessarily translate in to maturity, but let’s face it, he had to have some level of maturity because he had a wife and children and was at Kiawah. Knowledge, this is not France it is a family beach!  His actions were a sure sign of a lack of wisdom, for he was only thinking of himself, and demonstrating no long term insight. How about the girl who went into the donut shop and licked the donuts and said she hated America!   That was not very wise. You don’t have to be smart to have wisdom, you don’t have to be old to have wisdom, it is simply a gift. Always strive for the truth, and exercise actions based on those truths.
You might be wondering why I stared this blog with a lecture; well it is for the young ones among us who feel like they are getting old. You know who you are… major milestone birthday etc… We all think that maturity comes with age, we all think that knowledge comes from books, in most cases that is correct. So therefore it stands to reason that the older you are the smarter and more mature you are, in most cases that is correct. Along the way never let the dreams of youth disappear, always strive for the truth, keep your eyes wide open observe all act on truth not emotion, and you will gain the best gift of all Wisdom. Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-lagunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice. In other words wisdom!  Have fun, enjoy life, and work hard, for it is not easy. You will have your ups and downs Dude  and Dudesess, but if you keep your eyes wide open and keep the truth, you will get through,  you will gain wisdom. Don’t forget stupid is as stupid does. Keep your dreams strive for the dreams you had at 17,  for it will keep you wise.
Words of wisdom: New tradition… Sunday night: bottle of Gentleman Jack, on the beach
