the conclusion

Man the pig was in a different part of the world, we left the Holy Spirit parking lot that was packed with cars that in my best days I could only dream about owning, and entered a parking lot where the people could only dream about owning my car. What a culture change! We got our cart and filled it with all kinds of delicious food, went to check out and did not have a piggly wiggly, discount card, but all we had to do was ask, and the check out lady let us use hers, she saved us a fortune! The shopping experience driven by the friendly nature of the people of John’s island could not have been more relaxing. It was now time to head to the condo, put the food away and spend the day enjoying the sun and sand! In less than an hour, 6 was sitting on the beach. Being the intellectually superior person, led him to some profound observations, : it was very hot, no crowds of people, you could sit down and actually see the ocean, there was at least 100 yards of undisturbed sand before you got to the ocean, no life guards stands, no one was sitting on a towel they all had chairs, no coolers,  no grills, no boom boxes, no thousands of randomly placed  umbrellas, no trash cans, no boardwalk, no constant humming of electricity, no buildings, no tents, no left over holes in the beach, no plastic 6 pack holders,  if fact there was nothing there other than a few people, sand, water, trees, the sound of wind and breaking waves.6 remembers saying “Toto we are not in Kansas anymore”. What a day, just sitting there taking in all of the sights! As the sun made its way across the sky I began to notice mothers and fathers gathering their small children and heading to their individual homes to prepare the evening dinner the beach slowly began to become void of human life. The brown pelicans began to fly in an increasing numbers over our heads, this could only mean it was time for wine and cheese on the beach, in a way it is kind of ironic that in Kiawah you do not need a watch, if you pay any attention to nature; you know when it is Rex time.  The usual group had their wine and fine aged cheese, and marveled at the splendor of a late afternoon on the beach has to offer. We all headed back to the condo, took a quick shower, and were pleasured by the gastric delights of a fantastic dinner. After dinner we all sat and engaged in light conversation, followed by a sunset walk on the beach. At this point it was time to retire for the night, and dream of the adventures that would encompass our imaginations for the remainder of the vacation.
Words of wisdom: Never forget what you have, for it will always be part of you.
