Life is a Beach

Has anyone ever heard the saying that “Life’s a Beach”?  6 uses that term frequently and at times have even changed the word Beach, to another word. Since we are heading into the fall TV shows, they always give you a small hint of what is to come, well if it is good enough for the TV executives, well 6 guesses that he should provide you with some highlights of what is to come on future blogs.
The beach is nothing more than a microcosm of life. Sit back and take a journey thru your life, as you sit your lazy behind on the beach chairs of life. Early each in the morning the sand on the beach is totally undisturbed, soft smooth and cool, as the sun raises, beckons an awareness of the challenges the receding tide creates.  These challenges may be as innocent as a child’s shovel, or as natural as the sharp remains of ocean debris or as squishy as a jelly fish, to the empty remains of the careless beach goers’ attempting to escape the realities of their lives by leaving used cursed broken bottles and cans, (or other things) of their forgotten dreams.   While being drawn to the rising sun, you discover comforting faces on the same path towards the warmth and brilliant light that life affords.  Beyond the circle of the comfortable faces, the mass of the strange and unknown fills the open spaces.  What originally was a comfortable path somehow seems cluttered, with new obstacles, causing the path to become blurred and undefined.  Yet with-in the soul there is a feeling of comfort by the realization the friendly faces are still with-in reach. As the sun reaches its pinnacle, to the right is a nice couple who, is having a lively discussion in regards the 5 banned subjects, before it comes to blows, one leaves, leaving the other person sitting there with nothing but an empty chair. Further down the beach a mother, with the look of terror on her face, after she discovered that her child is missing. In front discover that some squatters have encroached    “the space”. They deposited their beach hardware, and vanished in the wind. As time passes, there seemed to be a disregard for their personal possessions as other strangers, walk over their towels, as if it was just part of the sand. Look out into the surf, and find strained expressions on faces, as they leap from the water as reality is handing them a stinging blow. A nice young boy jumps up from his chair, sprints to the vast ocean, sits down and after a minute returns to his chair. A whale is seen frolicking in the vast blue currents as a voice asks, what does George do? To the left watch another group building a majestic sand castle all while the tide ever moving closer towards the creation carries it out to sea. Further down the beach, a man is spraying his wife with cool water to enhance the penetration of the UV rays on her skin.  All the while a nice young family sits patiently as the rules of a card game are being explained to them. As the day passes, eyes begin to close as the sights and sounds of the surf, fade from memory, thus entering into a state of total mindless bliss. The hot sun begins to fade; the wind becomes cooler, while cool water droplets cover the beach. Faced with a critical decision, as to whether depart from the chosen path, or endure the hardships, one cannot help but notice, strange faces headed away from the surf into the darkness of the dense tree line. Making the decision to weather the storm, and remain on the path, after a short respite the cloud pass, the wind subsides, eyes now wide open, the comfortable faces adorned in bright wife beaters welcome, you back home. All the while the strange faces have chosen the path to perceived comfort of the sterile emptiness in the condos in the woods. The interaction with life surrounds every corner of the beach, it is a place where one can say “shut the ……up” you can “Keep your eyes on the prize” and you never need gas for your car! Tell me that is not what life is all about!

The schedule is ready

6 needs to register a formal apology, a few weeks ago I started my blog by listing many things that are happening around the world which indicate that vacation is approaching. Well 6 missed two of the most important events, 32’s favorite summer time event; “the annual national lawn tractor race”  and second, the annual sailboat races, which is 7’s favorite event! 6 is slipping, it is an age thing! BTW we have a new event that most people would love the Beer-BBQ!
