the conclusion

Man the pig was in a different part of the world, we left the Holy Spirit parking lot that was packed with cars that in my best days I could only dream about owning, and entered a parking lot where the people could only dream about owning my car. What a culture change! We got our cart and filled it with all kinds of delicious food, went to check out and did not have a piggly wiggly, discount card, but all we had to do was ask, and the check out lady let us use hers, she saved us a fortune! The shopping experience driven by the friendly nature of the people of John’s island could not have been more relaxing. It was now time to head to the condo, put the food away and spend the day enjoying the sun and sand! In less than an hour, 6 was sitting on the beach. Being the intellectually superior person, led him to some profound observations, : it was very hot, no crowds of people, you could sit down and actually see the ocean, there was at least 100 yards of undisturbed sand before you got to the ocean, no life guards stands, no one was sitting on a towel they all had chairs, no coolers,  no grills, no boom boxes, no thousands of randomly placed  umbrellas, no trash cans, no boardwalk, no constant humming of electricity, no buildings, no tents, no left over holes in the beach, no plastic 6 pack holders,  if fact there was nothing there other than a few people, sand, water, trees, the sound of wind and breaking waves.6 remembers saying “Toto we are not in Kansas anymore”. What a day, just sitting there taking in all of the sights! As the sun made its way across the sky I began to notice mothers and fathers gathering their small children and heading to their individual homes to prepare the evening dinner the beach slowly began to become void of human life. The brown pelicans began to fly in an increasing numbers over our heads, this could only mean it was time for wine and cheese on the beach, in a way it is kind of ironic that in Kiawah you do not need a watch, if you pay any attention to nature; you know when it is Rex time.  The usual group had their wine and fine aged cheese, and marveled at the splendor of a late afternoon on the beach has to offer. We all headed back to the condo, took a quick shower, and were pleasured by the gastric delights of a fantastic dinner. After dinner we all sat and engaged in light conversation, followed by a sunset walk on the beach. At this point it was time to retire for the night, and dream of the adventures that would encompass our imaginations for the remainder of the vacation.

First Year (part 2)

If you want me to summarize part one of this trip, go back and read it.
6 dragged his butt out of bed, not to the sounds of silence, or even to birds singing in the background, but to the sound of hair dryer running. 6 woke up fell out of bed, dragged a comb cross his head, (notice 6 did not say he was combing his hair, he was actually scratching his head), found his way downstairs to grab a cup of de-calf, looking up 6 noticed that no one had yet started to pack, found the bread and grabbed the PBJ, made the samichches in seconds flat, found my way outside to grab a smoke, someone spoke and 6 went into a dream. I saw the hall way today oh boy, four thousand bags of cloths to stuff in the old truckster, and although the bags were rather small, 6 had to pack them all, now we know how many bags it takes to fill the truckster.  6 would love to fly there next year. I read the news today oh boy, about a lucky family who fit 10 tons of junk into a truckster, although the family was rather squished, well 6 just had to laugh because 6 had plenty room. 6 saw a long line of traffic, he blew his stack, he did not notice that it was Saturday morning and everyone from Washington DC north was headed to the beach, the crowd of people in the car just sat there and stared, they’d seen this situation before, nobody was really sure if 6 was going to flip out again or not. There was a wise person in the crowd, she made 6 stop for gas, because he was on “E”, she ran across the street and bought 6 a whopper and fries, and all of a sudden all was well. 6 saw a film today oh boy, the truckester finally pulled into Newton farms, the crowds of people just turned away, but 6 just had to shout for joy, having finally made it to paradise.
When 6 was just a little boy, he expected the world, but it flew away from his reach, so when 6 made it to the condo he had to run down to the beach and mingled with the other dreamers of paradise. Life went on, it got so hot, the weight of his body breaks the chair, open a bottle of Rex the beach patrol came, but 6 closed his eyes and dreamed of paradise. It was now time to unpack the 4 thousand bags and make the inaugural spaghetti dinner. It was like walking thru the clouds, with a circus mind, that was running amuck, hyenas and spiders and gators, and fairy tales, that is all there was to think about, riding the waves, what else could there be, but the little wings of the gray Herron’s.  As we finished the gormet dinner, the sun fell below the horizon, the temperature fell, as the bottles of Rex pilled to the ceiling. I then heard them calling in the distance, so I packed my things and ran, far away from the comfort of the condo, 6 ran back to the beach with nothing but his shadow, as 6 passed thru the parking lot some had Bentley’s, some had beamers, it made 6 wonder about their sanity, as 6 looked around he began to notice that we were nothing like the rest, it was time to go back to the condo and sleep until the sun comes up ( or was that down)! . A new day dawned, fresh air, time square, time to visit the Holy Spirit and the pig. Preparing for the journey was a snap, for the condo arraignments were quite different back in the day, the boys had one condo and the girls the other, so 6, 6A, 7 and 8 stayed in one, and the rest in the other.  We loaded up and headed of the Holy Spirit, as we arrived the lot was full of cars that made the truckster, look like it did not belong, but that did not stop 6 from finding a parking space between a Benz and Lexus, right up front. We entered the majestic cathedral filled with the faithful dressed to the 9’s, in attire that made them look like they were on the runway at Sac’s 5th avenue. What a sight, mass was soon over and it was time to get some grub at the pig, so off we went. To be continued..
