Start of week 3!

I do not want to hear that this is not a "rooster" I know. There is no rooster in this picture, I have Ashleigh working on how to insert the rooster in a picture, it is beyond my abilities! For this picture you will have to do some research.. I will say this it is very close to something that most of us go to each day.. no its not the beach! I need to know what it is close to, and then what street is it on! and yes I know that it is near a bike path! you all might have to look at a map for this one!

Well it is Friday again, and we are now one week closer to the big week. What a week, I was planning on riding my bike to work today, so I got all of my work cloths together and put them in my backpack, and went to get my bike and it had a flat tire! what is up with that this is the second one I have had this year! BTW that reminds me of a exiting time at Kiawah! One morning about 3-4 years ago, Karen Natalie and I went out for our morning bike ride. It was a perfect day, the sun was shining, it was about 7:30 in the morning and it was at least 95 degrees, and 100% humidity, can you ask for anything nicer. As we were riding down the road on our way to the ocean course, I was a couple hundred years in front of Karen and Natalie, not real sure how that happened, but as I looked back for them I decide that I would slow down a little and let them enjoy looking at the houses along the road. As I was coasting, I noticed a lady comming towards me, she had one of those big straw hats that they wear on the beach and a real fancy bike, I remember thinking that I don;t bleong with all of these rich people, and as she passed me I said to myself " Self I know her" and after I rode for a couple of miles (yards really) I said " self that is the lady on the cooking channel!" I can think of her name, but she does her show from Sanavana and loves butter, and has her husband in the kitchen with her now and again. Still cant remember her name?

Now for the wisdom for this Blog: 1) don't get old, I can not remember her name. 2) While on vacation do not be by yourself, because you are in magical Kiawah, and you never know what is just around the corner, and in this case I saw a very famous person, and there was no one around to confirm, so now you all think I am nuts. 3) Make sure that you take care of your self or you will have a bad day! For the slow ones, I had a flat tire!

This is the first sighting of the rooster! No comments about the orientation of the picture, because I have no idea how to change it!
I am happy to see that some people are getting ready for vacation. Kristen sent me a text at 10AM this morning telling me that Target has beach chairs on sale! They are the backpack type, so it will be much simpler for Bryon to take all of them back home every night, after the elite group of us honers the rooster! I think that backpack chairs may be a good idea, that will give him some practice carrying things on his back for when he graces us with his presents on the ocean course! I was also thinking that I might send Karen's new umbrella back with Kristen so that Bryon can practice putting it up and taking it down, that might be a difficult thing to do on the beach when he has never done it before! What do you all think?

Well it is Friday again, and it looks like I only have two people following my blog, oh well. This weekend is mothers day, so don't forget that!

We have learned may lessons while on vacation,for example, did you know that you can not have glass on the beach? Now that is the dumbest thing that I have ever heard! What is with that! One night after a long day on the beach, someone, not sure who, said that it would be a great idea if we would get some wine, and cheese. After the big crowds left (now let me tell you that takes a long time down there because I am on the beach and people are always hounding me for autographs, advice etc.) but anyway to continue, I gladly went up to the condo and got a classic bottle of wine Sir Rex 2010 mind you it was 2009 at the time. When you are as special as me they give you advanced bottles because they value my taste. I also got some aged cheese, 2009 sharp "yellow" cheddar,  which I purchased at a fine cheese shop called piggly wiggly located south of Charleston. So here I come back down to the beach with a bag full of QUALITY crystal wine glasses, a FINE vino,  along with cheese that one would only find in the finest establishments in Paris, I dressed to the nines. As I started down the board walk I could not help but notice the pure beauty of the ocean, it was breath taking! but as I stood there some I don't know.. big hulking  man was came up to me and started a conversation, it seems like he just loved my head gear!    He first asked me if I mind telling him how much I payed for that item.. well you all know the rest, he offered me a beer, but I just had to pass. After I got away from him, I made it to the beach, let me tell you it was a fine time! We had our bottle of wine out and I was filling those FINE glasses with the quality vino! and low and behold, I was approached by the beach patrol, lights flashing tires squealing, I then turned around and saw at least 20 snipers in the dunes, so I dropped the bottle of rex (I did not spill a drop) and the life guard told me "Don't you know that you can not have any glass on the beach"! I said you are kidding me right! Don't you know who I am! How am I suppose to know that you can not have glass on the beach! He said that I should read the signs on the board walk! So sure enough I turned around and saw the sign he was talking about. is was put up 10 years prior the the boardwalk being built. It was about 5 inches and full of rust in other words you could not read it unless you knew what it said.  after a long conversation, he and his team went away, and we continued to drink our fine vino, and enjoyed the wind blowing thru my hair! Now for the wisdom, if you drink wine on the beach, make sure you keep the bottle in your beach bag, and do not bring crystal glasses, use fine plastic, $6.95 a glass found only at you local Belk!

Well not much new today, I guess the only thing is that the PENS are playing tonight, it is hard to believe that is that time of the year already! Soon it will be time for us to be sitting on the beach! I can't wait! I did look on the Beachwalker site and they can a discount on gold but as you might expect they did not say how much or what you have to do, I will make that my project for the week, I will find out how much of a discount we can get! I wonder if Ash is going to join us this year? I know that she really want to learn, so I will have to see what we can do about that! Can anyone guess where this picture was taken?
